What is the CMMC method?
The CMMC system focuses on a model of competence in which contractors are tested against 5 standards of cybersecurity preparedness. The purpose of each level’s concept is to ensure that confidential security information is secure against fraud, industrial espionage, and hackers.
Each stage of the 5 levels focuses on the previous step, and level one compliance, for example, is a prerequisite for level two to be reached. To function on a specific initiative, it may well be that a particular company will have to adhere to a certain minimum standard since it is still in the process of determining how it can run.
